Post by smcarberry » Tue Apr 01, 2008 11:54 am

Here are the death notices of the 1800s resulting from a search term "clare AND Ireland" used on the Gale website for newspapers in selected U.S. cities. This is my first attempt to attach a pdf file.

The new pdf has death notices published 1880s through early 1900s for Clare-born in the New Orleans newspaper, the
Times Picayune and another Louisiana newspaper. The below list has the decedents' surnames, with a preference for listing maiden names, although the published items also have relatives' names. Spellings are left undisturbed.

This death notice in an Ohio newspaper actually belongs with the New Orleans group:

29 Jan 1882 Cincinnatti Commercial Tribune Deaths
In New Orleans, June 24, Patrick Bolton, aged 42 years, native of the Parish of Myno, CCI, and a resident of New Orleans for the last 29 years. [Indianapolis papers copy.]
