Whirlpool drownings

Hello.
This relates to an earlier posting.
I think Patrick and Catherine Walsh drowned in a whirlpool on the Shannon, sometime in the latter part of the 19th century.
Is there any shorter way of finding articles on deaths this way in newspapers of the era?
I'll be so grateful to get a bearing on these poor dear souls.
