Clare-born Civil War Soldiers documented

Some careful research by a Civil War afficionado has resulted in the documenting of Clare-born soldiers in records of the
Civil War era, with a further 16 others noted as being from Limerick and a handful from Galway.

I would like to add another Clare born Civil War Soldier
Thomas O'Brien, son of Mathew O'Brien and Mary Scully, was baptised December 4 1837 and his sponsors were Martin O'Dea and Bridget Hogan. Thomas was a Confederate soldier in the 42nd Virginia Infantry, Co.C known as Buford Grays. He enlisted on May 18, 1861 in Lisbon, Bedford County, Virginia.
