BRIGDALL /BRIGDALE

Hello
i would like help on any information on the Brigdall,Brigdale family.
i beleve there is a long history of this name to be found in co clare.
can anyone tell me the origens of this name.

Mary,

Have you already trawled the masses of information on these family names in the databases on the Clare County Library ? If not, just go to http://www.clarelibrary.ie and click on Search this Website (down at the bottom) and, in the second box down, enter "Brigdall OR Brigdale" and hit Search. That will look for both variants of the names. There is quite a bit of stuff on the Ennis school rolls (thanks to Fíona de Buitléir) and even some info from the Books of Survey and Distribution 1636-1703.

thanks paddy,
i have already gone thro the online library for the brigdall/brigdale family.
but i cant find the oriigins of this name.first brigdall found was hugh brigdall 1680 a lawyer living in ennis.
