John Tuleridy sentenced for shooting at James Forde (1881)

Post by Paddy Casey » Thu Apr 03, 2008 2:14 pm

John Tuleridy of Crusheen was sentenced to penal servitude for life for shooting at James Forde, a gamekeeper, in Creggs on May 21 1881 with intent to murder (report from the Belfast News-Letter (Belfast, Ireland), Friday, December 15, 1882). Tuleridy was one of a party of men who attacked Forde's house. Forde, being a gamekeeper, had a gun to hand and shot Tuleridy, thus putting a premature end to the affair.
