Doloughty shotgunned at Moyreisk, 9-Jul-1882

Post by Paddy Casey » Thu Apr 03, 2008 11:16 am

Another case from the Clare police blotter (The Pall Mall Gazette (London, England), Monday, July 10, 1882): a herdsman called Doloughty was shotgunned at Moyreisk on his way back from Mass. The suspect was a man named Francis Hynes. It seems that Doloughty's employer, Mr James Lynch of Lissane had taken possession of a farm in a way that had caused ill-feeling. Other names in this report: M.Considine of Ennis; Captain M'Ternan, resident magistrate; medical superintendent of the medical asylum, Mr Dixon.
