Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

Since Ballyvara is listed as a place where Ann and Michael live when they have daughter Susan,it makes a lot more sense since Carnane is quite close.
Also, where would these people be buried if they died there? Kililagh Church graveyard?

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for all your work!! I agree that the Timothy you found is more likely to be Michaels father than the other one. I will see if I can find s connection here in the States between Martin and / or and Michael. Thank you again.

Re: Herberts in Ennistymon

It seems the Carriggs carried on the distillery business over in the States. My gggrandmother,Ella Carrigg Clark, ran a bootlegging operation during prohibition. She was known to have wayward young ladies living with her as well!

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

I checked with the city clerk where Michael Carrigg died and no other Michael Carrig died in all of 1915. The only thing I am absolutely positive about is his date of is his place and date of death, so I would say, this is my ancestor. Sounds like his father, Timothy was widowed from Bridget Tierney...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

Sheila, Thank you so much for your response. I actually am not 100% sure as his DOB doesn't match the one I have . Although that's unclear also because on every US census, he gives a different DOB. It only lists him as a widower , with no mention of his wife's name, but it lists him as being from th...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

I also received a death cerificate of Michael Carrig, ( I have DOB on him anywhere from 1839-1848) listing his parents as Timothy Carrig and Bridget Tierney. I have found a Timothy in Griffiths Valuation. Would love to know if there were other children.

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

I recently received the death certificate for Ann Carrig, born O'Connor,( born about 1852) It lists her parents as Isaac O'Connor and Hannah Fitzgerald. (born about 1807). Other than Ann's marriage and one child being born,in Lisdoonvera,I can't find these people. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Question regarding visiting the library

Unfortunatley, there is no record of their marriage in the Civil Registration. This is why I was wondering if there might be other documents offline that I might find of use at the library. I'm quite at a dead end.

Re: Question regarding visiting the library

So here is a specific question. In 1870 Michael Carrigg and Hannah/ Ann/Johanna Carrigg (born O'Connor),have daughter Susan/Johanna,listing Ballyvara as their residence. I know Hannah's mother is also Hannah/Ann O'connor but no idea who her father was. I found a Thomas O'connor in 1855 in Ballyvara ...

Re: Question regarding visiting the library

Thank you Paddy. I have been able to find my gggranndparents marriage and birth of one of their children on line ,from the Lisdoonvarna records. I can't seem to go any further. I can't find the birth or parents of either of them. O'Connor and Carrig are fairly common names in Clare in the mid 1800's...

Question regarding visiting the library

I will be in Ennis this September. I feel as though I have exhausted what research I can online. Is there anything that I could glean from actually visiting the library that I can't get on line? At this point I feel like I'm at a dead end. Thank you.

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

Thanks for the info. In searching through the Lisdoonvara baptismal record again,I found a Mary or Margaret Connor born in July or 1868 to a Michael Connor and an Annie O'Connor.(fits with other info I have) Residence in Lough, where there seem to be several O'Connors I'm convinced this is the missin...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

I noticed that on Susan's baptismal record that they list , 307 Roadford. Is this an address ? What is the 307?
Also, did families ever name 2 children the same name, even if one was still alive?

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor

So Honora can be Hannah? I suspect the Hannah I'm looking for may be listed as Honora.
Thank you.
