Re: Browne Family - Can anyone recognize this house?
Only the servants are in the house for the 1901 and 1911 census but one of the forms still gives the owner as W. J. McNamara (who was a Justice of the Peace in 1878 and High Sheriff in 1892. He married Mary Sarita Keane of Hermitage in 1897).

It might be what was the County Home. The Ennis Workhouse became the County home. The original building was demoilished circa 1970 and the new County home built and called St. Josephs, which exists today. there are very few surviving photos of the Workhouse. It looks like a chapel behing the ladies ?

Hi,
Before commissioning any research here in Clare I would exhaust all the avenues abroad first. If you can find Bridget Noonan's details it might give her parents names and where she was born.

Hi,
I suspect Tullyvargmore is Tullyvarraga.
Cahirliege could be Caherteige (or Caherlean, Caherlough),

The 1768 Freeholders list has
John Stinson, Residence Gortacullen, Freehold Gortacullen.
(Gortacullen is in Kilseily/Broadford Parish)
Have you looked at the Ormsby family tree in Burke's Irish Family Records ?

With further research you might be lucky and find that your Winifred Hassett was closely related to Catherine Hassett, mother of James Hickey, John F. Kennedy's great-grandfather.

The Clare Journal corrected one error -
4 Nov 1830
" In announcing the death of Mr. Henry Blackall, of Kildimo, in this County, in our paper on Thursday last, it should be Mr. George Blackall, of Kilard, in said county. The latter was father of the former."
