Re: Jane Mary Keane Killaloe to Adelaide 1855

Hi Jennifer The Killaloe RC Baptism register is available from 1828 on microfilm in the National Library in Dublin and also in the Local Studies Centre, Harmony Row, Ennis, Co Clare. You may be lucky and find Jane Mary's baptism with her parent's names. Note that Keane may be written as Kane. Lucille

Re: Knox Family, Ennis

Hi I have done a lot of research on John B Knox, Editor and Proprietor of the Clare Journal, which can be found in my book "Ennis at Work in the 19th Century", available from the Clare Roots Society http://clareroots.org/, also available in the Local Studies Centre in Ennis. Come back to me if you h...

Re: Calendar of Wills Search Help, Please

Hi Sinead Reading the notice of JH Milward's death there is a definite suggestion that he died rather suddenly, and I think that wills were often not written much in advance, as is usually done now. I have just also found a reference to him Nenagh Guardian 11 January 1871 A public subscription is be...

Re: Calendar of Wills Search Help, Please

Hi Sinead By putting in just 'Reilly' in Clare has turned up your Patrick Edward and Henry Patrick in 1872. Sometimes less is more, and in fact there were very few Reillys. 'Milward' only turned up Rosalie - the Bank manager John may not have left a will - it wasn't obligatory, though I would have t...

Hi Gordon I'm still here ... and no further on with the Miltown Malbay relatives. I'm looking forward to seeing your work. The igp websites for the 1839 are http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ire/clare/1images/Miltown_Malbay_Census/index.html - originals http://www.igp-web.com/igparchives/ire/clare/...

This mini-census has been discussed before http://www.ourlibrary.ca/phpbb2/viewtop ... f=1&t=2273 and I don't think any more pages have come to light.

Hi Gary These graveyard entries on the Clare Library site might be of relevance http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/graves/shankill_graveyard_transcriptions_west.htm There is a Shannon in Ballymacrinan, mentioned in the above inscription, in Griffiths http://www.clarelibrary....

Re: Christopher McMahon

This site might help - it lists your Christopher McMahon, but you have to register. https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/namesearch/ I can't find a suitable entry in the 1911 census, but this is a possibility in the 1901 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Ennis_No__2_Urban...

Re: Birth Certificate - how to obtain

I'm not at all sure that the GRO address you gave P.J. will work for a genealogical record. The application form requires information that you probably wouldn't have - until you get the certificate!

Has anybody used this service? It would be very useful to know of others' experiences.
