Re: Dispensary and Registration Districts
Hi Paddy, What you need is the Townlands in Poor Law Unions, put together and published by George B Handran, CG in 1997 and is from the Poor Law Union's phamplets originally published in 1885 by GRO. Each SRD listing is only a few pages, 2 to 3 typical. The townlands are organized further by Distric...

Re: Daniel McNamara Eviction, 4 APR 1877, Killaloe Sessions

And even some about his family:...

Daniel McNamara Eviction, 4 APR 1877, Killaloe Sessions
Hello everyone, Yesterday I received a large envelope in the mail [Thanks to the Gents at NAI] with 10 pages of ejectments from the Killaloe sessions and this included my Daniel McNamara(s). As there were two, and my greatgrandfather's marriage record has his father also as Daniel McNamara, I am unc...

Re: Please help to identify art studio & Ejectment
All,
One more question for all the handwriting gurus. The line beginning with 1085 has a name following and I think it is either the price $10.85 along with artist name or it is just an address 1085 _______, Englewood. Any other comments?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Please help to identify art studio & Ejectment
Hi Sharon, Thank you for all that, it was great and point on. I had thought to describe this as a pastel artwork except that it doesn't rub off nor is it varnished. Along the left edge, the coating has worn some from rubbing on glass. All that can be seen there is a purplish-reddish colored cardboar...

Re: Please help to identify art studio & Ejectment
Hi Paddy, The image appears to be a painting without any brush marks. It has the appearrance of being "air-brushed." The colors have uniform gradients. At the borders the color gradients hold, at the bottom you can see the base is brown and that is also painted. It may actually be a photographic pro...

Please help to identify art studio & Ejectment
Hi all, I recently visited East Clare and met for the first time my Mac cousin who gave me a framed painting of who I think is my great-grandfather Daniel McNamara from Laccaroe Lower Townland. On the back of the painting is "53196 - 1085 Grey(?) - 10 x 16 - Eriglewood" or Englewood ? My question is...

Tony, I would be checking the parish registers where you believe this person lived. See the parish maps on the Irish Times site to get the film references at NLI and FHLC. http://scripts.ireland.com/ancestor/ Also, in the donations section of the Clare Library site, Tom McDowell has posted various p...

Tony, In July of 2003 I received information about several ALLEN family groups from an Allen in the area. There are two Denis Allen marriages, but neither married a GORMAN. I do have a few GORMANs in these records, but only as Baptismal sponsors of an ALLEN child. I don't know if this will help you,...

McGRATHs, Laccaroe Townland / Rossanure Townland
My Great-grandmother, Hanora McGRATH was married to Daniel McNAMARA 3 FEB 1883. Both were from Laccaroe townland. I find the McNAMARA family stays in Laccaroe for 1901 and 1911 census but by 1901 the John McGRATH family is no longer in Laccaroe (AKA Lacarrow/Lecarrow Lower). I believe I have found t...
