Re: Carolan's connection to O'Brien and McNamara of Clare
For those able to visit Ennis there are materials on the Diocese of Meath, including Anthony Cogan’s three-volume diocesan history, as well as works by Patrick Fagan (“ The Diocese of Meath in the eighteenth century ”) and Paul Connell (“ The Diocese of Meath under Bishop John Cantwell 1830 – 66 ”) ...

Re: Linking to Griffith's Valuation maps at askaboutireland.
I suspect that it is only possible to make a link to the result of a search query - i.e. to create a link that replicates a search query, passing the terms of a query to the search engine of the database in question. It would not be possible to link directly to a map, but you could give a link to th...

Re: Emigrants from Scariff through Ellis Island
Patrick, thank you alerting us to this omission. Tom McDowell took another look at the Ellis Island records and did indeed find your grandmother's record. This is now included in the Moynoe Parish transcription at http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/emigration/moynoe_parish_t...

Re: how do I find old school records
Generally, school records like roll books and registers are kept in the school. It would be worth contacting the head teacher of the national school in Kilkee as a first step. See http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/cominfo/edu_tran/education/national_schools/kilkee_ns.htm. This modern school dates bac...

If you are a member of a public library service anywhere in Ireland you can request a book from any other library. See Borrowbooks (http://www.borrowbooks.ie/) for more info (especially the FAQS link on that page).

Re: 100 years of steele's terrace
It was certainly published, but according to the Ennis Bookshop it has completely sold out and no further copies are available. We do have some copies in the library for lending http://opac.clarelibrary.ie/search/q?au ... rchscope=1
