Re: Patrick Bugler (1895-1964)

Hi Hack, and welcome to the forum. Note that the locked items at the top of the Forum Page give info on how to post on the forum. Mrs Bridget Ryan, of Annacotty died in 1918. Re: Indexed copies of birth records

Hi Sheila and Jimbo Thanks Sheila for pointing out the error re the Registrar. I had overlooked that initially. And thanks Jimbo for explaining the navigation of the register. The url for the page containing entry No 498 is: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/b...

Indexed copies of birth records

Martin Wynne, son of Michael Wynne of Cloonmakin and Susan Leahy, was baptised on 7 Nov 1878. The civil birth record (retrieved from irishgenealogy.ie) turns out to be a copy (performed on 21 Jul 1879) of the original entry made on 28 Dec 1878. (see below) WynneCopy.png This original entry gives the...

Re: Triplet births in the 19th Century

Hi Sheila Thanks for that. I had no joy tracking the pre-1864 families. Of the others I found: Powell triplets 1865. All three died at age 0. Kinnane triplets 1866. All three died at age 0. Austin triplets 1867. No trace. McInerney triplets 1875. Bridget died in 1883 aged 8. No trace of other two. K...

Triplet births in the 19th Century

On 14th January 1892 Jane Frawley Barry, wife of Anthony Barry of Illane, Kilfarboy Parish, gave birth to triplets, all girls. Unfortunately, none of the three survived. The first died after 1 hour, the next after 2 hours, while the third struggled for two days before she also succombed. The births ...

Re: Master Hugh Brady of Ruan National School, b.ca.1844, d.1918

According to prior information on this thread Hugh Brady NT was born in 1844, prior to the commencement of the baptism register in 1846. Also most of the register is missing between Aug 1853 and Jul 1855. There possibly may have been another child during this period. According to the 1905 List of N...

The Heaphys - A Family of Teachers

While perusing the 1905 List of Teachers, my attention was drawn to a bunch of teachers named Heaphy, all educated in Ballinacally, so I decided this required further investigation. Robert Heaphy and Margaret Glynn, both teachers, were married at Ballinacally in 1861. It's likely that the ceremony t...

Re: 1905 teachers census now online NAI

Thanks Sharon for drawing attention to this useful resource. It should be noted that the filename NAI, PCO/10/1 Crehan-Croke is incorrect, describing only the first page, whereas the full range of the file encompasses Crehan-Darroch. Also the file NAI, PCO/10/1 Moynihan-Moynihan seems to be an unsor...

Re: Query about those tried under White Boys Acts 1831 at Ennis

Hi Kerry Those Special Commission transcripts of Peter Gorman include the trials that resulted from the Clondagad Riot of May 1831 and the death of Sergeant James Robinson, the subject of a discussion on this forum in 2009. http://www.ourlibrary.ca/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=493&p=1261&hilit=inciden...

Re: Donnellan b.1838 Sixmilebridge

Hi All, Sharon that Charles Donellan death record may be for the Charles Donellan who appears in the townland of Urlan More, Kilmaleery Parish, in Griffiths Valuation. I have him pegged as the probable father of Honora Donellan, first wife of Michael Phillips(c1828-1911), a great grand uncle of mine...

Re: Patrick Bugler (1895-1964)

Hi Sheila Thanks for those links, but these nuns are a bit remote from my family to warrant the task of trying to track them down. I was aware of that 2016 post on the Clenagh McInerneys, but at the time I had nothing further to add to the discussion. My chief interest with that family was (and is) ...

Hi Sheila
I was feeling guilty that we had diverged from the original subject matter so I started a new thread for Patrick Bugler.

Patrick Bugler (1895-1964)

Hi Sheila I was feeling uneasy that we had diverged from the original subject of Inishcaltra Parish in Griffiths Valuation so I started a new thread. I hope forum members will forgive us for border jumping. At least we started in Co Clare. Yes that obit for Bridget Bugler is quite extraordinary, wit...

Re: Inishcaltra Parish in Griffiths Valuation

I have to report that I was following a false trail with Patrick Bugler of Kilrateera Lower. What set me off on that false trail was his civil marriage registration which clearly declared his father's name to be Patrick. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/ma...

Re: Inishcaltra Parish in Griffiths Valuation

Hi Sheila Yes, with such a compact group there comes a temptation to try and put them all in their proper place. But I will resist the urge to stray off the beaten track and content myself with just Patrick's immediate family(all 14 of them!). You should be aware that the NAI's indexing of the Tithe...
