Re: Any information Michael O'Halloran, County Clare, circa 1827
Hello - I was just looking at the Census of 1901 (by DED and townland) on http://www.clarelibary.ie - and noticed that on Ref. 103/8/1 - ships in River Shannon at Kilrush Creek - there was a ship connected with Plymoth. It might have been poss. 50 years or so before that. Travel was by boat or horse...

Hello Paddy & Sharon I see that 'Moyasta' has moved!! - it should be Moyarta (near Carrigaholt) - and another placename should be 'Tonavoher' - which would translate as 'the sound of the road'!! Paddy - I have sent you a private message re Mulluny/Mullaney/Mullany of Moveen - it took me a while to s...

Hello = I thought 'Ballyveckin' could sound or be pronounced like 'Ballyvaughan/Ballyvaghan' as sometimes in the Munster 'Irish' - the 'gh' sound is not silent in a word. - so I looked up Census of 1901 -Ballyvaughan Union and low and behold under 'Abbey' - Ref 1/3 is Ballyvelaghan and there are Hal...

Re: Tarsnane/Tarsenane/Tarsone Family
Yes - indeed !! The Census of 1911 is a fount of information. Gerard - I think you are right - it is a different family - maybe your ancestors left the Moy area after the famine. So I think the request for info re Margaret Tarsnane - born around 1844 - seems to make her possibly belong to the Tarsna...

Hello Sharon - sad to see such young men die. R.I.P. Re U.S. soldier Darcy - there are a few families of Darcy in the Mullagh area - and Patrick living at Mountscott, Mullagh, Ennis. Hello Sharon and Paddy - the initials T.J. and P.J. mostly refer to Thomas Joseph and Patrick Joseph - so it would appear that T J Talty is Thomas Joseph Talty - and on pilot.familysearch.org - there is a Thomas Talty born in 1865 - Ennistimon Regist. Dist. (this would cover Milltown area) - Film 10...

Re: Kelly of Clare, with help from Paddy Waldron
Hello Sharon and Paddy - I often wonder is there a connection with the name Queally and Qually (as seen in Census of 1901) with the name Kelly - after all the letter Q is not in Irish language - and the sound of Kelly in Irish 'Ceallaigh' is not atall unlike the sound of Queally and Qually. - Just a...

Re: Tarsnane/Tarsenane/Tarsone Family
Hello again - sorry spelling error on my last posting - I mean Tarsnane and not Tarsane!! On looking at the spelling of Tarsenane - I wonder has it any connection with St. Senan (Patron Saint of West Clare) ? - the middle syl. is 'senan' !! I know of names like Gilsenan and Giltinane translate from ...

Hello Verdun20 - to get you talking Irish - the word 'slan' pronounced slawn means 'bye' in Irish. !! The full address of the Family Search site is pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html/#p=o - I think I have it right.!! It is a project carried out by the Mormon Church, as far as I know. Re: Tarsnane/Tarsenane/Tarsone Family
Hello - by looking for other info - I saw the Tarsnane family living at Milltown in Co. Clare on the Census of 1901- I think the name of the civil parish is Kilfarboy - but a part of the area is also in Kilmurray-Ibrickane parish. Both are in Diocese of Killaloe. I might be easier to find names on C...
