Re: Help me find manhole cover with the name LEONARD COSTELL

You could also write to County Engineer, Clare County Council, Ennis, Co. Clare - perhaps there might be some records of purchases from Leanard Costello in the archives of the Council.

Re: Martin and Mary (nee Cusack) Sexton

Hello PJ - would it be possible to check Parish Bapt. Register for Mary Sexton - born c 1870/1 - mother Mary - perhaps her father was a son of Martin & Mary.?? This would link her to Mrs. Mary Flemming (as on Census of 1901) - in Chapel St. - and at Stewart St. in Census of 1911 shown as Fleming. I ...

Hi - The Cusacks also lived in Ballynote - see family in Census of 1911 at Ballynote East, Kilrush Rural. The house is still there - but other family members living there. Inscription in Church of Ireland cemetery reads - Erected by John Sexton in memory of his mother Mary Sexton who died 2nd April ...

Hi Margaret - Cornelius's mother's name was Catherine - when you go to http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie - and put in CLARE - MCMAHON and DED of Killeely - you will find her there. Open 'Household Return' form and you will see her signature. I have looked at Tele. Directory and there are still M...

Re: Thomas Sexton & Susannah Anglim

Hi girls !! A cousin of mine in U.S. ordered a copy of the Kilrush Bapts. from her 'Family History Centre' - maybe you could look into that. As you will see from all the info on the Knockanalban area - there are several families called Looney - and in other parts of the parish as well. The name is m...

Re: Thomas Sexton & Susannah Anglim

That is a great bit of info for Annie. It is possibly that Mount Scott is shown as Knockanalban - Knock 'cnoc' in Irish means a little hill or 'mount' an is 'of' and Alban is 'Scotland' - thus MOUNT SCOTT. Plenty of Looneys there - now called O Looneys !! Some are mentioned in Kevin O Brien's blog.

Re: O'Keefe of Kilmicadhuan

Happy searching, Irene !! I looked at Graveyard Inscriptions and I see there is a tomb for O Keeffes - daughter died c 1840's aged 20 - so that would match your dates. I also had a quick look at local phone book and there is an O Keeffe living in Cooraclare. To do further research you would need to ...

Re: O'Keefe of Kilmicadhuan

Hello Irene - I think the place you are looking for is KILMACDUANE which is a townland / 'neighbourhood' - mainly farming area near the village of Cooraclare and about 6 or 7 miles north of the town of Kilrush. Ironically the name of the parish is also Kilmacduane. To see more about the area - log o...
