From the Obituary, I learned he was interred in Drumcliffe Burial Ground. According to their website, the Clare Roots Cemetery has fi...

Are there always 2 Ship Manifests-Departure & Arrival Ports?
I might be the last person to discover this and all of you might already be aware - I discovered that, on my grandfather's emigration voyage, there was a Manifest when he left Liverpool and another, different, Manifest when he arrived at Ellis Island. He had left Liverpool in Dec 1908 aboard the RSM...

Is there difference between a "Boarder" & a "Lodger"?
My great grandmother was a 45 year old widow of means when she and my 15 year old grandfather lived in Dublin in 1901. Her husband had died in 1894 but I do not know when she moved from Ennistymon to Dublin. I'm wondering if there is a difference between the terms "boarder" & "lodger"? In this Censu...

Ennis Lunatic Asylum
Three of my relatives died in this Asylum ~ 2 in 1894 and another in 1890 but they were not mental patients. One had tuberculosis; another had suffered for two years with hepatic disease before dying in 1894. The third died of marasmus in 1890 ~ Marasmus is defined as "malnutrition of the brain" ~ c...
