Lahinch Golf Club

I found out recently that my Aunt May Costello of 29 Abbey St was a life-long member of the Golf Club at Lahinch and was a Lady Captain in 1939. Anyone have any ideas about how I might find out more? Maybe even photos of her? Here is a pic of her from around that time. http://i63.tinypic.com/2d825js...

Re: Lallys of The Causeway Ennis

Here is some of what I know about the Lally's of Ennis. This is the 1911 census page of the Hotel in O'Connell St I think. The two spinster ladies were known as "The Misses Lally" http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Clare/Ennis_No__4_Urban/O_Connell_Street/353847/ My Grandfather, Leonar...

Re: Lallys of The Causeway Ennis

Hi Larry, regrettably I have got no further on the Lally's. They are a huge black hole in my family researches.

Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Thats brilliant thanks

I will follow up on these leads.

I am looking for a Laois girl Kathleen Brennan who I know married in Laois in 1925

I am intrigued by the link to Ennis convent and why she entered and left!

Re: IFHF Clare RC records now online

In our family, my Grandfather managed to be a year younger in 1901 than he was in 1911!

I think it was Tir na nOg they lived in and not 29 Abbey Street Ennis at all!

pwaldron wrote:"these" = postcards ?

Yeah, I wondered could it be that Paddy. Only thing is the writer without drawing breath [so to speak] says the shop lady was very interested in the troops. mmmm Curious!

Re: Ennis Postcard

. Thanks folks. I actually bought the postcard for the piccie,so the writing on the back was a bonus. Handwriting looks a bit shaky and the ink looks genuinely faded to my untrained eye. Wonder what the writer was referring to with "where I got these from" ? Any thoughts? Will deffo look up that book!

Abbey St. Ennis

Did everyone see a piece in The Clare Champion of Nov 1? I sent in some details of my late Fathers premises at 29 Abbey St and they very kindly published a nice item for me. Hopefully it will yield some information for me. One never knows who might see it and be able to identify some of the people f...
