Re: Reybauld family query
Hi June - you might also like to check the Hugenot names - a list of those buried in Dublin as in this link. As you can see there are 2 names which may have morphed into Reybauld. I have Dublin Catholic ancestors who married Hugenot-background families. http://huguenotsinireland.com/wp-content/uploa...

Re: U.S. Veterans Administration pension payment cards 1907-
Thank you Sheila for this info. I think I have found 3 of Robert Kierce & Cath Lalor's children in Ballarat (Vic), as they migrated in the 1850's, with no sign of a brother Robert with them. There is a Robert Kearce born to Timothy & Anna O'Keefe in 1832 (possibly 7 other children to this couple, ac...

Re: U.S. Veterans Administration pension payment cards 1907-
Sharon, your excellent file-keeping has given us some more gems. Thank you so much for this one relating to a Robert Kerse. The Kierce/Kearse/Kerse (and many other variant spellings) name mainly seems to occur in Clare, in the locality around Ennis. It is highly likely this Robert is related to my K...

Re: Kathleen Lillis
The original post mentions two less common names for possible siblings: Austin & Peter. A search @ Irish genealogy site for those names shows 2 Austin Kinnanes (1909 @ Ballyfaden & 1915 @Callura ) mother is Bridget Lillis; Peter Kinnane (1916 @ Ennistymon workhouse) mother is Bridget Lillis also (bu...

Re: Kathleen Lillis
Hi - there is a Catherine Lillis born 1908, registered @ Ennis, mother's maiden name is Enright (image not yet avail @ Irish Genealogy site). A marriage of Patrick Lillis & Bridget Enright in 1891 (@ Doora). Five others to that couple.

Thank you Jimbo for link to that information - I'd forgotten about the Bermuda transportation option.

Re: Convicts, transportation, tickets of leave
As some people may know, the convict system was run fairly strictly in Australia. A ticket-of-leave in the period in question meant the convict was able to find paid work only in the district where they had been granted TOL, and had to front up to regular musters. When the person had served their ti...

Re: O'Kelly family of Cascade Lodge, Lissyneillan
People probably know this excellent website - containing Irish convicts sent to Oz. I found both Timothy Killeen and Thomas Crawford sent on the same ship. http://members.pcug.org.au/~ppmay/cgi-bin/irish/irish.cgi http://members.pcug.org.au/~ppmay/cgi-bin/irish/irish.cgi The authorities often used "...

Re: cromwellian and williamite plantations
Matthew, I am pasting my notes into this reply. These were taken by me when I visited Eire in 2016. Being able to read the original entries in the book of survey & distribution was fantastic - I found a full list of person/townland (in NLI). Michael McMahon had also kindly pointed me in the right di...

Re: John Kearse of Cahermore, Kilmaley
Hi again - when Bridget Kearse (1841/3-1931) married John Donlan/Donnellan in Adelaide, the index shows her father as Thomas. As her brother in the will is John Kearse, his father must be Thomas (although cannot find his baptism). I think Patrick's father must also be Thomas (given his sons Francis ...

Re: John Kearse of Cahermore, Kilmaley
Thanks for your feedback John - I note you did the transcriptions for Kilmaley, so appreciate this feedback. A couple of mysteries remain though. I note a birth of a Bridget Keane Feb 2 1841 to a Thomas and Mary Casey - I suspect this may be the Bridget Donnellan (nee Kierce) in my original message,...

John Kearse of Cahermore, Kilmaley
In trying to find a direct relation of mine, a John Kierce, I had to investigate a lead in South Australia. The resulting info has shown he is not "my" John Kierce, but he maybe someone else's, so thought my searches may assist others from Kilmaley, with associated names of: Kearse, Cabey, Fitzmarti...
