Re: Where are Clonolman and Knocknagechs?
Sharon, Ironically I recently posted a question on the Kitson's and Moroney's . It maybe a coincidence but My great grandmother Bridget Moroney born in Cloongowna, Inagh Parish, had a sister named Ellen. Ellen Moroney (b. 1858) married John Lyons and lived in Lickaun, Templemaley. Their daughter Han...

Re: Where are Clonolman and Knocknagechs?
John Coffey immigrated into New York, on board the President Harding on September 28, 1928. He lists his nearest relative in the country he departed from as his mother Mrs. Coffey of Clonolman, Ballynacally, Co. Clare Ireland. His final destination is that of his sister Catherine Coffey at 418 W. 57...

Lyons/Moroney
John Lyons and Ellen (possibly Moroney) were married about 1884. In 1901 and 1911 they lived in Lickaun, Templemaley, with their children. The Moroney's were from Cloongowna in the Inagh area. If anyone can confirm this marriage, or has information on the Moroney's or this family, I would greatly ap...

By 1911 Margaret had died, three of the children were still iving in the home with Martin, along with his mother in law Mar...

Re: Clune, Dixon, Laydon
Jeff, There were seven Clune marriages married in Kilmaley Parish between 1829 and 1900. This list was published in the Kilmaley magazine in 1997. I checked again and Mathias and Bridget Leyden were married in 1835. I wouldn't put too much concern into the dates and ages. As an example when you comp...

Re: Clune, Dixon, Laydon
The Leyden/Leadon/Leydon's of Drimanure would likely be who you are looking for. The townland of Drimanure straddles the Inagh/Kilmaley Parish borders and abuts Cloonanaha. THE LEYDEN’S OF DRIMANURE, KILLANIV The Leyden family of Drimaure can be traced back to the 1826 Tithe Applotments. At that tim...

Re: Clune, Dixon, Laydon
Jeff, Mathias Clune and Bridget Leyden were married in Kilmaley Church on March 3, 1835. Kilmaley is a neighboring parish to Inagh. In the 1901 Census in Cloonanaha, Inagh, there is a Daniel (47) and Mary McGuane (52) listed. There are two stepsons present Richard Dixon 19, and Michael Dixon 18. The...

This page appeared in the 1987 Kilmaley Parish magazine and was a reprint of Hugh Weir's book "Houses of Clare".

Re: Irish inscription on Burke grave in Killernan
Based on the grave inscription I believe that John Thomas Pilkington and Bridget (Delia) Hehir were married, but not in Kilmaley Parish. It is likely that you might find that marriage in K-I Parish or even Inagh Parish.
If it exists in K-I parish I'll bet Kevin O'Brien will locate it.

Re: Irish inscription on Burke grave in Killernan
Paddy, Your positng answered a question for me and may provide a lane for you. Bridget Pilkington (nee Burke) mentioned in the inscription is likely the wife of John Pilkington in neighboring Aildavore, Kilmaley. John and Bridget were married prior to 1885 and had at least two children. John Thomas ...

The Corry family was present in neighboring Kilmaley Parish, with a connection to Clondegad Parish. These Corry's were not present before the 1855 Griffith's Valuation. THE CORRY’S OF SHEEAUN, FURROOR Cornelius Corry and Mary Reidy Cornelius Corry and Mary Reidy were married in Kilmaley Church on Ju...

Re: New facebook group for Clare genealogy
I look at the new Facebook page as another option for networking with people looking for information. In its short time I have seen at least a half dozen postings that have directed people to this forum and others for additional help in their geneological searches. So I suppose it may bring new view...

I know it is not near Kilrush, but here are some Clare Warren's/Warrant's and other variations: THE WARREN’S OF CAPPALEA NORTH, KILLANIV The Warren family was present in Cappalea North at the time of the 1826 Tithe Applotments.
