Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Is there anywhere to find the family of Bridget Connor born about 1830 married John? Shannon also may have been born about 1830, in Kililagh Parish. Possibly lived in Doolin? I believe she is my connection to my previous post. Thank you.

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Once again through DNA, I believe I have found some information. Believe it or not , I think my Hannah O'Connor is some how related to the O'Connors that own the famous Gus O'Connor. As cool as that would be, I really would just like to be able to trace my roots. I share DNA with a couple people who...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Thank you again for all your work. I suspect Ann was Hannah's last child as according to what's on Anne's grave she was born in 1852. That would mean her mother was in her late 40's when she had her.As you know the age of people is not always correct. I've seen Ann listed on US census as a couple ye...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Hi Sheila, Yes, the death certificate is handwritten, and clearly says Issac but I agree with you, that name is not common at all. I'm guessing somebody verbalized the name to the transcriber and they did not hear it properly,or they copied off another document and it was misinterpreted. I don't kno...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Through Ancestry DNA , I may have found another piece of my family puzzle. I am a 4th-6 cousin match with someone who has the name Fitzgerald in their tree. My Hannah O'Connor was born Fitzgerald, in 1807 and I was beginning to think maybe she was born in another county. This person has a John Fitzg...

Re: migration from county to county
Thank you Sheila. I started wondering if some of my ancestors had come from other counties , which they still might have. I do have some potential new information, but I will post it on my other thread.

migration from county to county
Would it have been typical for people to move from one county to another in the mid 1800's? What is the likelihood, that someone would be born in County Kerry and then move to County Clare? Did people move about to find work or even food for that matter?
Thanks you.
Thanks you.

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Another question. I was trying to find the 2nd born Austin Carrig of Patrick and Nora Carrig and I came across a gravestone in Ennistymon Cemetary that lists an Austin Carrig,d.1956,but there is also a Mary Carrigg and 5 or 6 other people with the name McGuire. I dont know if this the Austin I'm loo...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Thanks for responding Sheila. So far the contacts I have made don't have much more information than I do. The one new piece of information I did get was that Patrick was briefly married to a Mary McMahon before Nora. Apparently she died. They didn't know if Mary and Nora were related. Thanks for fin...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Another update. I matched for DNA with someone through Ancestry. They have Patrick Carrig in their line,so I can assume my Michael and Patrick are related, most likely brothers as we figured. I hope to find more connections through my DNA.

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
I have connected with the person researching Martin Carrig and she has the death certificate of Martin Carrig and his parents are listed as Timothy Carrig and Bridget Tierney matching my Michael Carrig's parents! So Michael and Martin are indeed brothers! Unfortunately that's about as far as we both...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Unfortunately, I will not be going to Dublin this trip, but thank you for the information. Even though I can't be sure Timothy Carrig was from my direct line, I will visit Carnaun while in Doolin. Since I know for sure that Ballyvara was a place Michael and Ann Carrigg did live, I will be going ther...

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
Thank You again Sheila for all your research. Of course everyone else lists their first name on that McNamara Rental, but not the Carrigg!
Maybe my ancestors don't want to be found! We were told as kids not to look up our family history in Ireland. Maybe they weren't upstanding citizens!'

Re: Carrig/ O'Connor
I found this on a message board on Ancestry.I am no longer a member so could not respond, but I'm pretty sure these are the same people,as someone mentioned their children as well in another post. "Think Denis' brother was Patrick Finn who married Margaret Kelly. Their daughter Bridget Finn (b1846) m...

Hi Mick,
Anywhere I could get a hold of that folk song? I would love to share it with my family.I would not be surprised if Ella didn't add water to her drink and I'm sure it wasn't holy!!! She looked like a little old granny , but had a bit of a criminal mind!
