Re: McInerney's Ballyea/Teermclane---O'Neill--Newmarket on F

Hi, I've had a fruitless search for Baptism records for my ancestors so I'm very curious how you found Baptism records in Killone Parish that go back so early. The Clare Library list says the Parish records only go back to 1853. Would you please let me know how you found the records you listed? Than...

Re: Hennessy from Ennistymon, Carmody from Inagh

Hi Maree, I just discovered your posting re Hennessy family from Ennistymon. I am researching Andrew Hennessy who was born in Ennistymon about 1839. His father’s name was John and his mother’s name was Bridget. I would like to know if you have come across him in your research. Andrew married Ann Hon...

Re: Finding mother's maiden name

Sharon & Paddy, Thanks again for your help. Andrew was born in Clare per 1901 census. I don’t know where in Clare but from my own research of Parish Records and Clare Heritage Center I’ve yet to discover any record of his baptism. I suspect he was born in a Parish where the records don’t go back far...

Re: Finding mother's maiden name

Hi Miriam,

St. Joseph's Church, Milltown has no record of Andrew's baptism. They do have his 11 children (attached).

I've been in touch with some of the descendants of these children but no one knows Andy's mother's maiden name.

Thanks for your help,
Joe Hennessey

Re: Finding mother's maiden name

Sharon, I looked through the Old Age Pension returns at Clare Library and as you know, there is no Andrew Hennessy. I've emailed the Library to see if they know of any other pension records held in Clare before I try the National Archives in Dublin. Unfortunately, I've already researched the other s...

Re: Finding mother's maiden name

Dero_D: Thanks very much for the info from Familysearch.org. Everyting in the record leads me to believe it is the Andrew I'm looking for. I'm guessing Andrew's most likely birth date as 1839 from his marriage cert (Sept 1863) where he himself gave his age as 24. My experience is that ages given in ...

Thanks for the tip but I already have all the Hennessy's from the Clare Library website. There is a John Hennessy in Miltown in Griffith's who might be my great-grandfather's father but so far I have no way to connect them. I am hoping to make a connection through the Andrew Hennessy mentioned in my...

Hennessy & Canny, Miltown, Co. Clare

I'm searching for the parents of my great-grandfather, John Hennessy. He was born about 1835 in Miltown, Co.Clare. His parents were John Hennessy & Bridget Canny. Possible brother of my great-grandfather was Andrew Hennessy but I can't confirm his mother's maiden name. Andrew married Honorah "Ann" H...
