Are there any records that would go back further than Patrick and Ellen?

I am trying to confirm the parents of Honora Brennan, born about 1827. I believe they were Patrick and Ellen (Melican?) Brennan of Scattery Island, but I have found nothing to verify that. Maybe she was a granddaughter? Any help is much welcomed.

Based on a few other family trees I found on Ancestry.com, I have two new possibilities for John's mother, Ellen's, maiden name: Hayes and O'Dea. It's entirely possible that neither are correct. Oh my, how I wish I could travel to Ireland to dig into this there!

Thank you. I have quite a bit of information about him once he came to America. The 1900 census indicates that he immigrated in 1847 and was married in 1851. That could very well be John's mother Ellen living there after her husband, John's, death. Do any of the records indicate birth year? It would...

I wish I could narrow it down a bit. His gravestone has his birth date and County Clare on it. I haven't been able to track down any family who knows where within County Clare he was born.
