Re: Lyons Family Ennis

There was an Alexander McMahon married to a Mary Culligan. They had 10 children baptised in Kilrush between 1828 & 1848. I think the family later moved to Kildysart. I have a couple of DNA matches with a Lyons family headed by a Flan Lyons from Ennis.

Re: Michael BURNS & Ann MEE - & child Thomas Patrick BURNS

The odd name out here is his mother Ann Mee, not many of that name in Co.Clare. A check of the Griffiths Land Valuation of 1855 lists only 6 people of that name in 2 parishes Kilfenora & Kilfarboy both close to each other. I would try searching in that area. http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/...

Re: Quilty & Kirby family

Here's a link to some Quilty marriages in Tipperary & Limerick etc. Killaloe & Tipperary are linked by a bridge across the Shannon, if you walk across the bridge from Killaloe you are in Ballina Tipperary. https://familysearch.org/search/collection/results?count=20&query=%2Bsurname%3Aquilty~&collect...

More than likely he was the local matchmaker, and so would appear as a witness at the wedding.

Re: Family of William Frawley, Clare to NSW Australia

You may have to scroll slowly through the parish registers to find the children of William Frawley ( sometimes Fraley etc) / Mary McNamara. Looks like the priest abbreviated the McNamara name to McNa in the following record of Fanny Fraley baptised on 14 June 1842 http://registers.nli.ie/registers/v...

Re: Grogan and Quinlivan of Kilrush and Limerick

Hello Paddy, I think the Grogan's may have been from Kilmurry-McMahon. Mai McMahon who died some years ago aged 104 was related to them. Her granddaughter Marian McMahon Jones might know the connection if not then her father would. I think Mai's maiden name could have been Grogan. Don't know if the ...
