Re: Dividing up Connaught and Thomond, 1576
The Dangan referred to could Dangan Castle in the townland of Knocksaggart, Ballynacally. Graigbrien is about three miles north of Dangan Castle. See 1589 deed between McGilleragh and earl of Thomond by Luke McInerney for more information on Craigbrien. It's my working hypothesis that the name McGil...

Re: Kilroy Family : Mayo connection to Clare
Thanks Sharon, Happy Thanksgiving and 1000th anniversary,
I recently found a record of a lease in 1778 with Felix and Thos Gillereagh, Doonogan East and Clonlagheen East (Clare Journal).
I suspect the name survived as "Gallery" in west Clare in the Tithe Applotment Books and Griffiths Valuation.

2 index.jpg I'm researching the possible links between the "Kilroy" family in County Mayo and County Clare. According to O'Hart's pedigrees the family were transplanted to Mayo from Clare. I am aware that some of O'Hart's research has been questioned, but as O'Hart's mother was Norah Kilroy, this p...
