Re: Ed Murphy (1845-1933), John Hehir (1835-1919) Clare to N
Anne was born 1Nov1870; Denis born 7Apr1875. There is an entry in the Clondegad Parish Register for the birth of twins to Michael Hehir & Mary O'Dea Patrick and Matt/Mary [hard to read] 29Apr1862. I often wonder if this could be the twins, Michael & Mary.

Re: Ed Murphy (1845-1933), John Hehir (1835-1919) Clare to N
Hi Murf, Thanks for your post. Yes, I have most of that info except for the date of birth for Maryanne 19Mar1865 which shows she was a twin to Margaret. The family always said that Michael & Mary were twins. I must have missed her entry on the parish register as she is not on the civil register for ...

At last, the death certificate for Edmund Murphy. I will take it that his mother's maiden name is Hehir and not Mehir.

Re: O'Hehir/Hehir
Would you believe it-I have ordered the transcript for the death of Matthias and I am waiting for it to arrive. Is your certificate a transcript or the original photo-copy? Yes, please send me a copy so I do not have to wait. I will email Marilyn and see if I can have the order changed to getting th...

Re: O'Hehir/Hehir
Thanks Kerry, I had all that but thought you may have had the names of the parents for Stephen Hehir. This is some of what I have found about Matthias: Clare Journal, 9 June 1831 which summarises the final day's proceedings of the Special Commission. John Meskill, Mat. Hehir, Martin Phillips, Pat. R...

Re: O'Hehir/Hehir
That is a good idea, Kerry, posting to a new thread. I am new to this so I will probably muck up. Yes, Matthias Hehir was from the Yass/Wagga area. I think I have his parents names correct as Matthias & Sarah (maybe McNamara) or the mother may be Catherine Hayes. I will have to do further research o...

Re: Indexed Catholic Parish Records
Hi Kerry Our John came from Lack, Ballynacally and is buried in the Kilchreest Cemetery under Heher. I have a "bit" on Stephen but you seem to have more than I have. I have always been interested in Matthias Hehir, who maybe his brother. Matthias was sentenced on the same day and transported on the ...

Re: Indexed Catholic Parish Records
One of the most glaring errors was e.g. "Thomas Brown of Thomas & Anne Smith" - the father was indexed as Thomas Smith instead of Brown. This was the case when this entry format was used. I would love to hear from you Kerry. I have a one-name data-base of Hehir (etc). I am hoping that one day I will...

I am looking for Edmund/Edward Murphy born County Clare about 1845, came to New South Wales, married Ellen Monaghan in 1874 NSW, died NSW 1933, parents Michael Murphy & Jane (could be Jane Hehir-I am waiting on the death certificate to confirm this).
