Thanks so much for that photo, Michael. It's such a shame it is going to be demolished. So glad that you have got a photo of it at least.
Many thanks,
Kim

Re: Herberts in Ennistymon
Hi Michael,
Thank you so much for that. Which newspaper was it from? That is fantastic - the earliest record I have of the Carriggs in Ennistymon so far.

Re: Carrigg article
Hi Rosie, Will get your email address from Dixie. Just a quick reply here - 'Grandmother Carrigg' was Mary Jane (Mina) Flanagan's grandmother, Mary Ann Carrigg (nee Herbert). Mina Flanagan was very close to her grandmother. In fact, 'Grandmother Carrigg' reared the Flanagan children who were left be...

Re: Carrigg article
Hi Rosie, Thank you for your reply. I have already got a copy from Dixie Ingram (another descendant of the Carriggs living in Australia). She has written to you as well, I think. Great to be in touch with you. I thought your article was very interesting. I descend from Bridget Carrigg (John and Mary...

Re: Herberts in Ennistymon
That's a great photo, Michael. My great, great, great grandmother - Mary Ann Carrigg (nee Herbert) was still living in Bogberry Street in the 1901 census.
Many thanks,
Kim

Herberts in Ennistymon
My ggg grandmother was Mary Anne Herbert, born in 1821, in Ennistymon. She was the daughter of John Herbert. I don't know where her father was from or who her mother was (although I think her first name was Margaret). I have found mentions of John Herbert in the minutes of the Poor Law Union meeting...

Carrigg article
I understand there is an article about my Carrigg ancestors that appeared in an Irish Family History Journal. The article is titled "The butcher, the gaoler and the runaway drapers: the Carriggs of Ennistymon". I was wondering if anyone here knows how I could get a copy of this. All the best, Kim Sa...
