Re: Researching Family of Andrew Donnellan and Mary Connole
Hello Phil, I hadn't previously taken much notice of this post, despite it being one of very few to mention migration to South Australia where I live. It is a remarkable coincidence that John Mayer's response has pushed this to the top of the posts at this time - a few days ago a Death Notice for a ...

Re: Clareabbey-Killone Parish Records pre 1853
Thanks Kerry and Sheila for the information and suggestions. I checked the Newmarket-on-Fergus records for 1839 but no luck there. The entries for that year mostly didn't provide the place of residence, so I can't confirm if they included any of Killone parish. John Grenham's website here: https://w...

Clareabbey-Killone Parish Records pre 1853
Hi, Many years ago (1985) a relative of mine had the Clare Heritage Centre do some research into our ancestors. The known ancestors lived in Parish of Killone (Catholic parish Clareabbey-Killone). The Clare Heritage Centre found a baptism, possibly our ancestor in the Clareabbey-Killone parish recor...

Galvin family Co. Clare to South Australia 1854
My gg grandparents John and Catherine Galvin and 5 children emigrated to South Australia in 1854 on the ship 'John Bunyan'. I haven't been able to find out where in Clare they were from. The passenger list only gives the county of origin for the passengers. This is the only reference I have found of...

Re: Where is Relagh?
Many thanks mcreed for going to the trouble of following up my query with the local Post Office at Lissycasey. The willingness of the contributors to do things like that is one of the things that makes this forum so special! The location of Realagh Lodge described by the postmistress is a little dif...

Where is Relagh?
Hello, I am trying to verify the location of a place named 'Relagh' or 'Realagh' mentioned as the residence of (probable) O'Dea ancestors in Baptism and Marriage records for Clondagad (Lissycasey) Parish Co Clare. Relagh/Realagh is not a present day townland. A relative of mine here in Australia had...
