Re: Full-text search now online for filmed U.S.wills & deeds, free via FamilySearch.og
Thanks, Sharon. I wasn't using the quotes, so tried it again. This time I get 9400+ results. Still a few. The name I'm researching is Brown/Browne so not that unique! As for town name, as I've seen discussed in various threads, spelling of town names can be all over the map. The only name I've been ...

Interesting! I did as you outlined, using County Clare for search. I got 68 million matches spread out on 245 pages. How did you go from there down to just the ones you posted about?

Never heard such a thing. I went to Ancestry and found a record I have with a reference to newspapers.com. Wouldn't let me in other than a 7-day free trial and/or paying for a subscription.smcarberry wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 5:19 pmThe celebration of Father's Day in the U.S. has brought free access to Newspapers.com

Re: Anyone else getting this error message ?
I don't often post and then rarely with an attachment. I borrowed something from another thread to see if I get the message.
The result is the same as you...I get the quota message. It doesn't appear to be just you.

Re: further assistance with US access to Ancestry.com
In the 1930 census, there's a couple Amadio and Catherine Gasparini living in Boston with four kids - Elda, Dante, Ada, and Vittorio. It appears she immigrated 1911 or 1912. The husband's first name is not identical but somewhat close.

Re: Clondagad/Kilchreest Baptisms - Family Index
murf - I think I've seen the entry for George you mention. But those townlands/parishes don't resonate with anything that I've ever heard about the family. I've been trying to focus on Cappanegaargh and Ann Field Park. So, it's hard to put any credence in it. I have so little to go on. But thanks fo...

Re: Clondagad/Kilchreest Baptisms - Family Index
Murf - I'm as certain as I can be about things...I have done extensive searches on the US side and am confident of the information...of course, there's always room for errors. The fuzziest part of my research is the Ireland part...I mostly have family lore that my relatives came from the Clare regio...

Re: Clondagad/Kilchreest Baptisms - Family Index
I wonder if I might ask a question about some names in the Clondagad listing...I have an interest here where I believe (still to be proven), my relatives Brown/Browne may have originated. I've looked through the family index and would like to hear more about one particular entry. It's for the entry ...

Re: Chicago address
If I found the same family in an Ancestry search, I'm wondering if the Ashland Avenue address (685??) might have been in Chicago Heights, ILL? I see that the 1880 census says specifically Chicago and Ashland Avenue, but maybe it was more of a suburb of Chicago?? Or what about North or South Ashland ...

I ran across another DNA matching site at DNAgedcom.com. Anyone hear about it or try it? It's a paid site it appears. The previously mentioned gedmatch.com is free.

Re: Genetic genealogy for surname info
So, any thoughts on other testing sites in other parts of the world? As I mentioned, I have my tests done and I'm on a direct male line to my German immigrant from the 1850s. I've also had DNA tested for another male relative who is a direct male line to our Irish immigrant from 1850. But to date, I...
